What You Need To Know: Pembrey – May 7/8

Fresh off the back of a pulsating season-opener at Brands Hatch last month, the British Truck Racing Championship travels to South Wales this weekend (May 7/8) for the inaugural Convoy Cymru event at Pembrey Circuit.

Before the BTRC descends on the picturesque Welsh venue, here’s the full guide to make sure you don’t miss any of the action from the second event of the 2022 season.

ENTRY LIST & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

The 2022 season will see a total of 20 trucks share one grid as they battle it out for supremacy, 13 of which will run in Division 1 and the remaining seven in Division 2.

After Brands Hatch, six-time reigning champion Ryan Smith holds the advantage at the summit of the Division 1 standings whilst John Powell is the driver to beat in the Division 2 rankings.

CONVOY CYMRU

Simply put, Convoy Cymru is Wales’ biggest and best truck show. Having run events at both Donington Park and Thruxton, Convoy comes to Pembrey with hundreds of the biggest and best show trucks, top-class racing, an adrenaline-packed action arena and truck loads of family fun.

LIVE STREAM

Following on from a hugely successful first broadcast of the season which amassed more than 100,000 views, all BTRC races will once again be streamed live and for free on the British Automobile Racing Club YouTube channel.

Pre and post-race interviews will accompany the action.

TICKETS

Tickets to the event will be available to purchase on the gate across the weekend at £20 per person, with children 14 and under being admitted for free when accompanied by an adult.

As is the case with every event this season, the British Truck Racing Championship will stage five races, in addition to a qualifying session, over the course of a race weekend. All of the key timings for Pembrey can be seen below:
